National AI Training Program Targets Small Business Community
A comprehensive nationwide training initiative is being launched to help small business owners leverage artificial intelligence for growth and efficiency, according to reports from the program organizers. The Small Business B(AI)sics initiative, announced by Google and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, aims to reach 40,000 entrepreneurs over the next three years through multiple training formats.

Addressing the AI Knowledge Gap
The program comes as research indicates a significant technology gap among small businesses. Sources indicate that many entrepreneurs struggle with implementing AI solutions despite recognizing their potential benefits. According to the Forbes Research Small Business Survey, which captured perspectives from 535 U.S. small business owners, 35% identified upskilling employees to use AI as a top workforce challenge, while 27% cited implementing AI as their primary technological challenge.
“We are helping Main Street entrepreneurs embrace cutting-edge technology to make their companies stronger, more resilient and more competitive,” U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark stated in the program announcement.
Program Structure and Resources
The initiative will offer multiple pathways for business owners to develop AI competencies. According to reports, the program includes in-person training sessions, virtual interactive modules, and on-demand resources accessible through the U.S. Chamber’s digital platform. Local chambers of commerce interested in hosting training sessions in their communities can contact the organization directly.
Analysts suggest that the timing is critical for small businesses. “Your greatest risk is your competitor figuring out how to use this stuff faster than you,” Christopher Turner, global head of government affairs and public policy at Google, noted in the program announcement.
Strategic Importance for Small Business Competitiveness
The program organizers emphasize that AI technology will soon become essential for small businesses rather than remaining a tool exclusively for tech-savvy companies. The training aims to demonstrate practical applications of AI for saving time, growing revenue, and reaching new customers.
Small business owners can access the program resources through the U.S. Chamber’s digital platform, where they can register for upcoming events and training modules. The initiative represents one of the largest coordinated efforts to address the AI adoption gap in the small business sector.
